Meet Tony
Tony Fayyazi is an educator who believes in the power of children and their ability to be successful in life in various capacities. He believes in teachers, staff, parents, grandparents and all those who are involved in the education of all children in our public schools. Tony is a self made person who at the age of 17 came to the United State in order to pursue his higher education. He became a proud US citizen in 1986. He attended the University of South Carolina where he received his BA in Psychology and M.Ed. in school counseling. He has also completed his masters plus 30.
In order to earn his degree, Tony, who was a full time student, worked two jobs to support his family. He had to commute to Columbia from Spartanburg three nights a week to complete his graduate program. Tony has proven to himself and his community that with hard work, determination, a sense of involvement and enthusiasm, you can achieve just about anything you want in life.
He has great love and passion for children and cares about their education. Tony is a smart, confident and persistent educator. He has great common sense and ability to solve problems. He is also a motivator with a good sense of humor. He has conducted numerous workshops for parents, teachers and other educators.
Tony enjoys sports and he is a competitive tennis player. But above all, what makes Tony Fayyazi stand out more than anything is his ability to get involve and stay involved with issues that matters to people. This is something that has been lacking for over a decade from our previously elected officials as State Superintendent of Education.
There are several things that Tony is not. He is not an attorney, or a developer, or a banker. He is also not a candidate who will seek and use his position, as an elevator, in order to climb to governor position, or just to fulfill other self interest goals. Tony is committed to his children and cares about their education and their future. He is a fighter; Unlike other candidates who talk the fight, Tony fights the fight.
Our education system is in turmoil. Our country’s leadership priorities are serving everybody else but our very own. They are building schools in other countries but closing schools in our own home. They are training and hiring new teachers in other countries and they are letting go of our best teachers here at home. They are building smaller classroom in other countries but they are pushing 30-35 kids into our classrooms. We need a leadership who will take these fights in our own community.
Unfortunately, our previously elected officials have not stepped up to their campaign promises and have done little or nothing to face these challenges. They have only acted as messengers to follow and deliver the same failed policy for over a decade. There is no more time to waste. This is it. It is time to elect someone who has his heart and soul in this job. Someone who fights the fight. Someone who only wants to do one job and do it right, and that is to serve our children and grandchildren.
This is about our children and their education. This is about our teachers, staff, parents, grand parents, community members and those who would like to see their children grow with healthy attitude and confidence to lead successful and productive lives, socially and academically as they grow to be an adult.
This is a crucial time to make your choice an educated one. Vote for Tony Fayyazi in November. He has taken many challenges in his life and with hard work, determination, teamwork and creative solutions, he has been able to produce positive results.
Tony has been an educator for nearly 15 years. He has the experience to lead and the energy to get result. He has worked with the children on a daily basis unlike some candidates who show up in classroom just for photo-ops. He has been working with parents, teachers, staff, and community members on a consistent basis. Being bi-cultural, Tony has different perspectives on education and he is able to see the problems from larger angles, and he has seen the problems. Now he wants to do something about it and he can with your help.
It is time to make an Educated Choice. Vote for Tony Fayyazi for SC Superintendent in November. Together we must make our education system better.
